Unfortunately the only thing that STILL matters is the political games backstage and the amount of neighbors one has.Since Portugal never had either and this won't change,we will continue to lose contest after contest.It doesn't really matter if we have great songs or not,or if we have english lyrics (Rita Guerra in 2003) because we're never appreciated.In my opinion I think we should continue with the portuguese lyrics (being them mixed with english or not).At least we lose in our own language

Dulce chantait et je m'étais pris à rêver que cette fois ce serait la bonne pour le Portugal. Elle aurait dû être scandinave.
Tant pis, ça reste un grand moment d'eurovision

@SRJ1DK : Yes, I'm afraid that's true. Which is why the language rules were changed. That still hasn't helped Portugal much though. But they also mostly send entries in Portuguese.
