DooF (www.foodbackwards.com) is the new kids' show that makes good food fun. In this live-action video segment, the Doof kids at the LeConte Elementary School Farm and Garden Program in Berkeley get English 'Food Expert' Mr. Worcestershire as a substitute cooking teacher. They learn how to cook a dish called Hoppin John and end up teaching their teacher a lesson too.

Doof http://www.foodbackwards.com/ uses the power of multi-media entertainment to engage kids, families, and teachers with healthy food in their homes and classrooms. Doof builds a foundation for healthy eating by creating healthy food credibility while fostering an environment that enables children to make healthy food choices in their daily lives. With a comprehensive outreach program, Doof energizes efforts to improve food options in schools, homes, and communities across a broad range of socioeconomic, racial and ethnic groups.

More than a cooking show, Doof is an interactive online food adventure, with live-action videos featuring kids that authentically reflect the multiplicity of our audience in their backgrounds and attitudes about food. Our Doofers tackle the challenge to put food on the table by going to places they've never been, seeing things they've never seen and creating new dishes to taste and enjoy. Supported by videos, activities, and cool, upbeat commercials, Doof allows kids to experience their own food adventures as they follow the DooFers on theirs. That experience is reinforced by range of interactive features that enables users to expand their food knowledge while they watch and play, then use that information to accomplish food related tasks.

DooF builds credibility for healthy foods by associating it with engaging media and taking kids behind the scenes into the world of food. We invite kids to cook for themselves virtually, and the kids in our videos encourage them to make healthy food choices in their daily lives.
