It was August of 1982...Larry Newman had left the band to start his own act-The Mustangs with his girl friend, Molly on vocals.
I switched back to our original set-up and played keyboard bass with my left hand and Vox organ with my right.
I had met a girl named Linda Ross who regularly came in the copy shop I was working at and she was a college student in video production/television...
Having been a Monkees fan I asked her about making a video of the band I don't think MTV was happening yet but Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe and a number of other artists were doing promo videos...She professed to knowing nothing about music videos but had to do a class project and she agreed.
We were in the process of recording what was to be our last effort at Ben Grosse's Pearl Sound in Ann Arbor.....The final mix and mastering of the 8 track recording hadn't been completed but it was time to "move"...We had a decent rough mix on a high bias cassette so we used it and in hindsight it sounded pretty "OK".
The whole thing took one night to do and the only real regret I have is the "sans-a-belt beach pants and lavender polo shirt I was wearing (What was I thinking?) ...heh heh..
This thing sat around forgotten for a long time but recently my son Graham has been transferring old family videos to digital and I remembered having this tucked away.....
"Thanks" to Graham for his help in transferring this fragment of my long ago and far away...
I hope it makes you smile...It does me...
God bless you
