Portable Display Realization for Cardiac Catheterization
Systems Design Engineering 2009 - University of Waterloo SYDE462
Design Project By: Robert Wang, Jessica Yue, Phillip Lin
A need for a centralized visualization system assisting cardiac catheterization has been identified. A prototype multi-source visualization application is presented where X-ray and pre-operation MRI feeds are aggregated in a convenient manner and controlled via hands-free methods. 3D model representation of the heart is generated from 2D MRI images and is capable of being viewed at any cross section from any angle. The viewing point is controlled by the userʼs head motion movement, which is accomplished via optical tracking. Voice control is implemented to switch between X-ray and MRI sources, which are displayed on a head-mounted device. Future works include overlay view of MRI and X-ray as well as improving user experiences visually and ergonomically.
