  • Thank you. It is dedicated to a friend who is worthy of it. A friend who is never to be forgotten.

  • I remember the Stokes. I can't think of the name of one of your male relatives. I'm certain he is around my age (52). Real light skinned. I think it is Michael.

  • Tata, if you or a relative read this posting, will you please call me. I have the videos prepared to send but I misplaced your email address.

    Thanks

    Dwight

  • Tata, I removed it. I am so sorry.

  • Tata, what I did for you and your family is the same thing Lawrence would've done for me.

For you to have had Lawrence as your father figure and role model, I'm certain your aspirations are unlimited.

    Take care.

  • I've known him for at least 45 years. We lived in 1117. By the way, I made a mistake on his birthday. He was born in 1957.

You're absolutely right about his smile and attitude. Out of the many years we have known each other, I can't regard one time when he called me Dwight. Since I can remember, he has always called me by my nickname, Tee.

A true and genuine brother. No doubt, he will be missed.

    God bless you.

  • Yeah, that's him, Michael. We were at the funeral and repast at Seward Park that night. I'm one of the younger sisters. I remember hearing about you and your brother. Is it Skippy or Dwight?

  • My family lived in 1119 N. Cleveland with Lawrence for many years. He was the kind of person who truly loved people, especially Cabrini Green residents.

When he put together "Old Skool Monday" he brought former residents together - some who had not seen each other for almost 30 years.

It was not surprising that so many people attended Lawrence's funeral because he was loved by many people.

Thank you Green Family for sharing such a wonderful man with all of us. Stokes Family
