TORONTO CITY COUNCIL's adoption of the ROB FORD BIKE PLAN encourages increased automobile dependence, on less-safe streets. What deludes so many local citizens to make such self-destructive choices?
Still, some seem to have an alternative view of this evolving city.
@PortugueseGina1 Ya Toronto cyclists are a breed of their own and i know one day I'm gonna end up hittin one in my truck. I hate when i make a right on a red and i have cyclists zooming up my right side running a reds and almost hitting me mid turn.
My G/F couldnt beleave one cyclist because i pulled close to the curb to try and prevent this issue and they still squeez by.
I think they should start issuing tickets to cyclists that are aggressive and unsafe just like they would for a motorist.

@warnher this isn't europe where our roads / weather are conducive to cycling in the city!!!!!.....if you lived in Ferrara Italy you could enjoy riding bikes as they're everywhere! I'm a cyclist but do the trails etc. Downtown cyclists give other cyclists a bad name!

Rob Ford should be forced to cycle the streets of Toronto so he can experience first hand what he is trying to make worse.
I love how its always people in charge who know something about nothing and think they know whats best.
Anyway good luck with the protests :o)
thanks for sharing :o) it would of been awesome to be there..
cheers

What an excellent turn-out ! I am presuming this was the 6 pm July 20 ride on Jarvis Street. Hopefully our councillors will start to take cyclist safety and concerns more seriously. In the meantime I would encourage all cyclists to please be diligent and STOP AT ALL RED LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS ! I am very tired of reading letters to the editor from annoyed drivers about this issue ! OBEY the traffic laws and TAKE AWAY THIS WEAPON from the angry drivers who are stuck in traffic jams . please.
