  • whats the duration between the fill to the crashing back in? if u know what i mean lol is it like a four bar break how do you count it?

  • Hey man. He's playing '8's' with the band so There will be 8 bars from one of the soloists then he 'answers' with 8 bars of drum solo. Its a good way to practice soling as you can try and play a solo that feeds of what the other guy just played

  • hey sam the solo he starts on 1min 8secs im really struggling to count and come back in the others im fine with, is this possibly because the solos are slightly overlapping each other. help:)

  • Yeah just watched that bit and he kind of messes up at the end. Its probably not worth copying that phrase exactly :)

  • lol thnx mate i thought i was goin crazy, the funny thing is the band come in pretty much in time thats what was throwing me off lol

  • Its one of those psychic jazz band moments! :)

  • No Buddy Rich is the most overrated drummer of all time, he kicks ass but I never found him as musical as many others. Gadd is one of the greats.

  • Max Roach, greatest bebop drummer of all time.

  • MEU MESTRE DA BATERA !!!

  • this is just my opinion: that ride sounds like complete shit

  • Buddy Rick: technique? Try speed, technical skill, and creativity. Now, throw in decades and decades of experience and you have Buddy. He's been dead for ... what, nearly twenty years? And most drummers still can't out play him.

  • Dude, Bebop jazz needs to be slowed down more often, 'cause it sounds pretty sick.

  • hey GWW1, I think I know what you mean.

Buddy Rich is definitely a master of technique.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooo

  • To be honest I used to think the same thing, until I actually grabbed a load of his albums and properly listened to them all the way through. The guy is absolutely unreal. If you have doubts, check out 'Nutville', from the album titled The Roar of '74. Nobody can play that feel like he can!

  • Might be cause its slowed down, the tone is lost.

  • Yes, I'm joking.
