@ICANGO247 check out the paper "Unconscious determinants of free decisions in the human brain" published in Nature Neuroscience from researchers John Dylan-Haynes et. al.

Also, look up Ben Libet, and good reading on this is "Neurophilosophy of Free-Will" by Henrik Walter. If you don't dig the whole scient-'ism' thing, check out Friedrich Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Kant, and the like. You'll get a better idea of how this debate goes.

Determination has a few meanings. One relates to the philosophical position opposed to libertarianism (free-will), and one is used to signify an act being carried out following deliberation, e.g. "This man was determined to commit his crime."

However, the form "determin-ism" is almost universally used to mean the philosophical position.
