This video demonstrates just some of the scripting functionality being added to the ProSonic game engine. The scripting language is still in it's infancy, so there will be more things to be added in the future. The keywords supported by the language as of 06/02/2009 are as follows:

include, define, object, endobject, if, elseif, else, endif, break, function, endfunction, playfm, playpcm, resetsound, textout, drawsprite, animate, destroy, return, counterout, fadeoutfm, move, spawn

  • Wonder if you could make re-spawning enemies...

  • Absolutely. It's pretty easy to do actually. You can tell it to destroy an object permanently, or simply delete it's memory so that it can come back.

  • yo man i'm loving this work that you're doing, it's such a noble thing that you're creating something to allow others to create. Unlike rom hackers, who hate open source with a burning passion

voice was a little surprising, but don't worry, i Have a weird voice too lol

have you released any windows or linux release of this? i could only find mac...

  • Great job! Really looking forward to september. Just wondering, why do you use "dX" for variables all the time? Any specific reason?

  • Ohh, happy day!

  • The scripting looks pretty simple, even for someone like me who isn't all that great with scripting. I even got an idea for an object from that code you put that spawned rings. =P But I'm not gonna say it, I don't want people stealing my idea.
