Nice track! I see you have braid for track contacts, my guess would be that the track is made from MDF or plywood or something like that? Makes driving skills more important, as on car magnets won't help! ;-)

@torteak125 it's a wood track. Magnets aren't effective and the grip is not the same

it's either the cars or the track that makes the cars slow

if it's the cars try putting a new engine or replace the tyres

if it's the track get a new track

coz i have this heaps mad scalextric track about 3 and a half years old and it goes way faster

but it could also be because you might no be pressing very hard

but still VERY COOL CARS AND TRACKS

hey im getting a scalextric track for my layout this weekend but is the controllers that come with thrm good or should i upgrade them as money isnt an issue

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression the magnets in the car attracted the metal which the pin at the bottom of the cars slides through while driving. So, the actual material of the track shouldn't matter much as long as the metal grooves remain.
