  • sounds like you are having problems with Starlings.  A non-native species from Europe who travel in large flocks. I agree they are pests! But don't lump them in with Indigos and Grosbeaks! those birds are spectacular!

  • What do you do to keep these *pests* from eating your new garden down to the ground?

  • Which species are you considering a pest? And what type of garden: veggie, flower, etc?

  • thanks smelllikedirt, the indigo bunting was beautiful. I saw a oriole on my bike ride today, first time i have ever seen one.

  • Yeah, they're eating the tomato plants, all of my water melon, cantaloupe, cucumber vines etc down. Seems like they'll just eat anything. They see bare dirt and come down and then it's yum, look at that pretty plant, let's eat it...

    Just looks like the common little black birds to me. Not sure.
