  • Abhiji, is there an instrumental version of this track? Very much appreciated if you could link me to it.

  • @shadeslayer512

Unfortunately I do not have the instrumental version of Nirvana Shatakam. I have the MP3 song only, with which I have created the video. If you need the mp3 song, I would be happy to upload and send you the same.

    Let me know.

    Regards,

  • @soumya62ify The words is indeed shivoham and not shoAham (which again, grammatically is only so'ham - saH + aham) as you said. That apart, shaMkara is right in using shivoham in the views that he didn't write a shiva stuti in here and he mentions the shuddha chaitanyamAtra AtmA for shiva is auspicious going by etymology. :-)

    Cheers.

  • Best version listen to so far. I have various version of various singers and this one is the best. Thanks for the upload.

    AUM namaha Shivaya.

  • @soumya62ify - Agree that "Shivoham" is not meant as just Shiva Stuti, but ShoAham explanation does not fit. If it were "it is me", then the words would be is Sa + aham -> Becoming " Soham" - a form of sandhi ( a grammatical Sanskrit construct ).The speaker of the poem is nominally Shiva, but it is generally seen as a statement by a knowing person of identity with Shiva or Brahman. The rest of the poem only makes sense if the person is identifying with the Brahman, not merely saying "that's me"

  • @newgirlalfa Nirvana is the union with the Supreme Being through Moksha. It is a Hindu philosophical concept. It should not be confused with heaven.

Нирвана союз с Верховного Существа через мокша. Это индуистской философской концепции. Не следует путать с небес.

  • I wonder if Nirvana in Indian religions is a place to souls go when people die like Heaven for Christians?

  • My most humble salutations to you and all such being who have provided us this opportunity to connect with the divine. May God bless you many many times over. jai shri ram hey prabho. regds DS

    i love lord shiva

  • The word is ShoAham - meaning "it is me" . The slokas stand for what Shankaracharya believed true form of person as Atma. Unfortunately in ignorant rendering this slokas have been mutilated as Shiva Stuti.
