50cc GY6 engine Oil change 101 (part 4)

Here I clean the oil filter, spring and drainage bolt with petrol and do some more explaining and show the metal shavings that the filter is designed to stop going back into the engine

is it bad to have metal shavings? i have a little on the dip stick. i just bought this 5.0 mustang a week ago and noticed it

Umm on the dipstick is not normal, they should end up in the oil filter, I'd suggest you drain and re-fill

any shavings that dont get caught go back through the oil pump and ripp it a new a&& hole so id tear it apart and at the least clean the interior oil screen before the motor seizes from the pump getting plugged up
