Yamaha Tyros 4 - Problem 1: Style Volume

UPDATE: This particular problem (as well as problem #2) has been fixed by Yamaha in their latest update. However problems 3 and 4 still happen.

I should point out that problem demonstrated here can be done with the T4 preset styles too. If you want to try it using the exact same steps I did, make sure to use a style that actually has something recorded in RHY1, RHY2, BAS. For example "SurfRock".

Also, keep in mind that the problems start happening on the SECOND edit.

I went through these steps with a representative of Yamaha USA and (to his surprise, I must say) he was able to recreate these same issues on his T4 as well.

i tried and found out that it is not necessary to use execute. in this case youre right, i always did it that way, because i work more in song creator.

the point is, my style works well after editing, i can send it to you. so it seems to be a problem wit your style, and i will check if you send it to me.

we want to solve problems together, right?

@jensenberger I tried it over the phone with Yamaha and they were able to replicate the problem on their T4. So now, we are past the "is there a problem?" stage, and waiting to see if there is a "fix it" stage...

you didnt execute data changes to the style file. go to any page in style creator and press execute b4 saving.

@jensenberger You don't need to. It wasn't necessary on the Tyros 3, 2 or 1. Trust me, I've done this before :-)

@jensenberger I'm sorry Jesenberger, but your comment shows that you do not have experience making styles. You never had to press execute for any recording or mixer changes on any of the previous models. In fact doing so will execute other things that you probably had not intended (quantization / pattern length / groove, etc).

And just in case you still want to argue your point, please read the Tyros 4 Owner's Manual, Page 87, number 5, point 2.

The people at Yamaha should consider the fact that a single video like this one can become the cause of a big loss in the sales of their products (I was going to buy this keyboard tomorrow, now I'm considering it one more time). The only one I see here trying to give a solution is Jesenberger, who doesn't even seem to be a Yamaha representative. And he's also got an attitude. I want to see a comment here from a legit Yamaha representative giving Chanchi37 a useful solution. Where are they?

P.S. It's time for Yamaha to add at least one more octave to their keyboards. Five octaves is too limited. And switching from a low to high octave is a real headache.

I too was thinking of buying a Tyros but not anymore ...I do not have money to throw away and an extra octave would be nice......

custom sounds wil remeber but if you use sampels from a other style is other value

then the seting cant be saved in a normal way lolz i did this to at tyros one its has the same problem ^_^

im in the same boat as  you. $7,500 and ppl have it and theres problems. if i was yamaha i get on to it straight away to stop losing sales. i could have bought 1 yesterday but now glad i didnt after seeing this video. maybe they are like other companys who know full well theres a problem with products but refuse to acknowledge it. hoping ppl wont realise till they buy it and the warranty runs out. shame, shame,shame. look after the customers who keep u in a job, buying ur prods
