i'm a little confused about this now.

first Mitchel did 'the in crowd' and it wasn't the orginal.

and now he did 'hey' and it's not his orginal either.

does mitchel just takes songs from other people?

It's not a problem ~ just the music business. There are singers that don't write and writers that don't sing... sometimes guys do both when they have both talents.

"Hey!" was written by Ryan Joseph Gillmor with friend Tim Pagnotta from 'Sugarcult'. It appears on Gillmor's album "Counting the Days" published in 2007. It was used by Fox televsion as the theme song for "Unhitched" in 2008.

Not at all! Mitchel does a wonderful job singing Ryan's song. Ryan writes the songs and music ~ he sings them and he lets others sing them too! One of his songs won American Songwriter and was performed by a finalist on American Idol!

His CD absolutely gives credit! He doesn't tell people he wrote the songs, he refers to them as "my" new songs because they are the new songs he's performed, not because he's claiming to have written them.
