The brand new 2011 MacBook Air's are surprisingly powerful with the Intel Core i5/i7 processors when compared to their older Core 2 Duo siblings. In this video I compare the performance of the all new 2011 Core i5 MacBook Air to my older 2010 Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro with Geekbench, Final Cut Pro X, and a mass opening of 30+ applications simultaneously. • I love windows and I will definitely try to keep bought operative systems for different purposes. Mac for fun and quality and pc for performance and gaming.

  • Im using my new macbook air and this shit is fast, it takes me less than 10 seconds to restart the computer, It took less than a minute to install the whole 2011 Microsoft office, this would take about 20 to 30 minutes on my previous laptop, photoshop installed in just about a minute aswell, it's a good laptop, but I'm debating about getting a 15in pro because of the screen, superdrive and more space, but I will miss out on the SSD

  • Less moving parts = faster

  • @wynnerd It depends on your budget. If you can afford the pro, go for it. If not, the Air is good enough. If you're not a gamer, the Air is a good pick along with being light and portable. Otherwise, the Pro is more powerful and has more storage.

  • I like the reference to cross country as I run. Good review! One thing I notice is that the Pro has a lot more programs and files and has had more use so it might be slower from that, along with fragmentation and such. A clean install of Lion or Snow Leopard on both Macs would have been more accurate.
