I was always large, so I grew up that way. It was not as if there was a readily apparent change that I magically hit at age 35 and put on 100 pounds. I was always the big guy. I was always the funny guy. Are there things we do in life to compensate for that? Yeah, one hundred percent.

People who knew you, they knew you for who you are, and they would always judge you differently. But people who meet you for the first time; definitely, there's no question about what they think automatically. When you sit in an airplane, my shoulder is taking over half the seat beside me, or I can't buckle everything up. It wasn't readily apparent, nothing was ever said, but you could feel the vibes from the other person.

At my heaviest, that was a big shocker. I came in and the scale hit the 360 pounds mark. That was a huge eye opener. I probably thought I was close to 300 pounds, but that 360 was a real eye-opener for me.

How much do I weigh now? I have no idea. I haven't weighed myself in six weeks. I don't fixate on the weight. It's a ride, and wherever the ride takes me is the end result. The last time I got on a scale, I think I was down roughly 106-107 pounds. I did the diets and I did the Atkins thing. It was great to eat steak, eggs, and drink as much as I want, but at the end of the day it wasn't for me.

The analogy of a ride is great, because for me it was a rollercoaster. I'd lose 50 pounds, jump off the wagon, and gain 60 pounds. And then vice versa, I'd lose 60 pounds and gain 75 pounds. At the end, hitting the final mark for me was 360. If you look at that, we almost came full circle in 360 degrees. All of a sudden, it was like what am I going to do? That was the change there.
