The former prison at Hohenschönhausen in Berlin, Germany, was the main interogation and holding prison for those detained by the Stasi(East German secret police) during the Cold War. This clip includes a short walkthrough and a look at a circular padded cell.

@VideoHistoryToday Do you know if there is any truth to the idea that such cells were "circular" in order to create a strange type of reverb that caused added distress for the person being detained.

I read it somewhere once but have never found anything online to add weight to this theory (not looked that hard to be fair either mind you)..
