@clubhouseme -- CBS has the AFC and FOX has the NFC. Like you, I preferred the old way. Can't stand those stupid dancing robots on FOX and endless promotions for their network programs running across the screen.

I liked it better when NBC did the AFC and CBS did the NFC.Now I don't know who the fuck does what.
-
@conlanding I remember that year. The Browns lost to Miami 24-21 in the divisional playoff game.

The Browns won their division in 1985 with an 8-8 record & the Raiders had home field advantage in the AFC playoffs with a 12-4 record, only to lose to the eventual AFC Champion New England Patriots.

You talk about getting reved up! When I heard that guy say The NFL plays here! Miami! --I knew there was about to be a shot of Dan Marino!
-
It was actually Jackson Beck, the voice of Bluto from those old Popeye cartoons
-
I think that what that announcer said was, "The NFL plays here, America..."
-
Did they have localized tags for each market? I can't make out what the announcer says in the beginning after he says "The NFL plays here..."

Wilson and Schroeder are the only QB's for the Raiders (AND THEY'VE HAD SOME SORRY ONES) that I expected INT's on throws...the old "hold your breath" feeling
Is it my imagination or was McGruff the Crime Dog moonlighting as a voiceover announcer for NBC? (Seriously, I',m going to check Wikipedia to see if that's the guy who did McGruff's voics.)
