Navigating the Essence of Cool
One of the highlights of the Congo Square festival in Bwerlin was the concert of trombone player, singer and entertainer Joseph Bowie, head of the legendary group Defunkt. He always succeeds to create a high cooking, rhythmical music in different formations. For this concert he was accompanied by legendary bass player Kim Clarke from New York and as lead singer the young in Berlin living Ziggy Davis performing with a very funky and energetic voice. Special guests were the Cuban piano player Omar Sosa and percussionist Adam Rudolph adding Caribbean elements to the music.
