Gaynor and Lillian are long-term carers. They describe how their local carers forum supported them and enabled them to care for others and for themselves. For your local support network call the Carers Direct helpline on 0808 802 0202
I really agree with you on this. I know someone who was a carer and this was also their experience. These types of groups are ok but they mainly provide wages for people not real practical support for carers.
i have been a carer since i was 12 and i am 17 i do it on my own i dnt fink the support groups are gd there insnt help if you are young but i believe there should be more.i found it hard because i am a 24 hour carer for my severely ill mum, groups dont offer much at home but some carers like myself cant get out to meetings, and days out for carers arent very practical if like me your unable to leave the person for a whole day !!! this vid only offers the brighterside of caring !!
