People travel from distant places to immerse the ashes of their kin in the waters of the Ganga; this immersion also is believed to send the ashes to heaven. Several places sacred to Hindus lie along the banks of the river Ganga, including Haridwar and Kashi. People carry sacred water from the Ganges that is sealed in copper pots after making the pilgrimage to Kashi. It is believed that drinking water from the Ganga with one's last breath will take the soul to heaven.

  • OK. People who dislike Hindu practices do not have to look at them . Ganga belongs to people of India and it is their business how they treat their rivers. No one understands their own religion perfectly well, let alone other religion. Superficial acts or words are NOT religion, just like a person is not his shoes/suit/briefcase/mobile phone. Also, those who claim other religion is bad ,shouuld look at their own foul language and hateful words-their behaviour reflects their religion.

  • Nasty. I don't think any religion teaches dirtiness like this

  • Trash is always burnt

  • @Varoonmg go drink some ganges water

  • @mrjack123789 Wait a second , you're a Muslim American and you dare make fun of us???

You're just a parasite, not only useless but harmful to other....

Boeing Planes??....I guess you're talking about the same planes that your friends used to kill innocents at the World Trade Centre....

What's the matter?, you're irritated by the fact that Indians are making it big in the US while you can't even back a primary school certificate??

What have you been learning in your madrassahs?

  • @mrjack123789 Keeping in mind that 25% of all Engineers working at the Silicon Valley and at NASA are of Indian Origins, when Indians don't even account for 1% of the Population

That most IT Firms have at least one if not more Indian Managers, that 67% of Indians living in the US hold at least a high school diploma when compared to the 27% National Average, and that we easily surpass you in your own Universities

I wouldn't be surprised if all the new Western products are designed by Indians

  • @mrjack123789 For your info, YouTube was invented by three technologists, one is CHINESE-American another BANGLADESHI German

I never said Indians invented Algebra, read correctly, I wrote, that We Invented the Modern Decimal System

Now, I never said one should never use something invented or built elsewhere, but your comments were so insulting towards us, that I had to remind you how backward your life would be if it hadn't been for the "Indian Hindus" that you are so keen to look down upon

  • @TwistedWalruse Just an interesting data

The Greatest American Scientists-among whom around 200 Nobel Laureates-are regrouped at the National Academy of Science, and a study made within the institution found out that 93% of them Neither Believed in a God nor Superior Being

If it please you to foolishly think that atheists are "kids who were picked on in high school" , no one cares, as long as those "kids" turned out to be the Brightest Minds in the World...and ruling the World today...

  • @TwistedWalruse I'm not sure you can correctly read English

I said I value the LITERARY masterpieces that Hindu Scriptures are, not that I believe in Them

I also value The Great Ancient Greek Mythology, are you going to assume that I pray Zeus and Athena?

Religious Bigots like you can't understand the fact that Religion is detachable from Culture, that's why you've got a limited biased view of everything...

  • Mahabarath is not a holy book and touching the water con't do any things that is

totally bullshit its written in vedas if any worship idols or any other natural like a fire

water etc they be in great darkness and God is one he is invisible and alone.

  • @alkasingal

I am Indian, I am Hindu, but I would never allow my body to be dumped among many others to be rotten like this, just to go to 'heavens.' If this is heavens, then what the hell is hell? I respect the religion, I respect the people following it. But this is blind faith, polluting your holiest river with corpses. You have to accept that we need urgent reforms in many aspects of life. No wonder why the Chinese are so much better than us. Smartness drives them, not religion.
