  • Well-done.

  • @TheRobotka Thank you very much!

  • I have to check the site out. They have ASL in my high school, I teach it, and at a local University; however, due to budget cuts both programs are going. But at the hs, they want to introduce Arabic and Hindu. It doesn't matter that I teach ASL in one of the most dense Deaf populated areas in the state... go figure.

  • @missfaetoo It's frustrating when some administrators look at ASL as a "cutsey" language that is only offered as "fluff" and that other "more important" so-called "world languages" are placed above ASL in importance/value. Sorry that the ASL program got cut!

  • I really wish they would have taught ASL as a foreign language in the high schools in my area.... That would have helped a lot. The only option I had in high school was to take either French or Spanish. So I had to learn the ASL that I know now from only my mom (She's hearing- impaired). I've been practicing for years, but yet I still feel like there's still so much more to learn!

  • im right handed but i like signing with my left...

For the time being, they are keeping the program... we'll see. Now the students are of the mind that they are being asked to do too much work for "only an elective." (Their words not mine.) They want "A's" but only want to give a "C" effort. Too bad for them, it doesn't work that way in my class. lol

  • @rawmark LOL. The "politically correct" folks are actually politically INcorrect. *grin* Culturally Deaf people prefer to simply be called - "Deaf." (Notice the capital "D.") Glad to help clarify that. ;)

  • @BYUFanatic Rob, I was using the term, Deaf, and then some politically correct folks, corrected me and told me I should not be using the word, Deaf. Thank you so much for clarifying this for me. :)

  • @saddleclub1919 Hope you enjoyed checking out my website!

  • @poldon72 Aw thanks. I appreciate the kind words. Hope you enjoy my website!

  • @jjohnson11000 You're VERY welcome.

  • @kimberlyiosborne You're welcome! :)

  • @TayoEXE Awww... sorry your school doesn't offer ASL. Put in a petition/request and see if they'll add it!
