Daily Daily Sing To Mary

This lovely Marian hymn owes it's text to a 12th century poem of St Bernard. Mary is our eternal mother, drawing us closer to God through Jesus.
My mother passed away last week and I played this at her funeral. Some days when awareness was all but lost I would take out my rosary and put it in her hands,she always began to pray aloud right away. Her speach was quiet and perfect in prayer. What a beautiful gift we have in the Blessed Virgin.
I feel sorry for those who think that Catholics worship Mary, or images and statues of her. They lose so much by conjuring up fictional theology, or they listen to many a lost Catholic who do not understand their own doctrine. Hardness of heart keeps them from knowing a mother who's love is beyond comprehension.
I still have such vivid mental images of my maternal grandmother meditating on the mysteries of Christ though the rosary. Perhaps even more touching are the memories of my paternal grandmother, not Catholic , who had a significant devotion to Mary and prayed the rosary daily. In those days many Protestants had no fear of showing their love for the Virgin.
Satan hates the rosary and works hard to keep us from Mary. After all it was her yes to God that set in motion his defeat at the hands of her son Jesus

Daily, daily sing to Mary,
Sing, my soul, her praises due.
All her feasts, her actions worship
With the heart's devotion true.
Lost in wond'ring contemplation,
Be her Majesty confess'd.
Call her Mother, call her Virgin,
Happy Mother, Virgin blest

She is mighty to deliver.
Call her, trust her lovingly.
When the tempest rages round thee,
She will calm the troubled sea.
Gifts of heaven she has given,
Noble Lady, to our race.
She, the Queen, who decks her subjects
With the light of God's own grace

Sing, my tongue, the Virgin's trophies
Who for us her Maker bore.
For the curse of old inflicted,
Peace and blessing to restore.
Sing in songs of peace unending,
Sing the world's majestic Queen.
Weary not nor faint in telling.
All the gifts she gives to men

Ishtar was a goddess figure known under several names in ancient times....The Virgin Mary was a real person, a historical figure as well as a religious one. You are mixing beliefs of the ancient Near East cultures with Christianity...please check your facts. Perhaps you should research the facts from somewhere other than the internet for background on Ishtar

@ahhhhhhh83 - the Virgin Mary being a god is something you have imagined, along with your other notions about idolatry an so forth. If you happen to hold a degree in theology, history, and or religious studies then I'd be happy to discuss your misconceptions. @bella50008 - great I'm glad you have opinions and I'm sure you feel strongly about them. Your opinions on satan, interpretation of scripture, of religions..Catholic, Orthodox, Judaism, Islam..should have some basis in historical and intellectual fact if you expect anyone to take you seriously. This issue is a paticular burden to me as I see people being led astray by satanic seductions and lies. I do not deny that I know where you are -you are lost in a system that has been infiltrated by the wicked one and seduced by the voice of demons named "mary". If I were not a Christian I would not care about your imminent demise. But I am no Cain - I care, therefore I shine a light on this present darkness - the teachings of catholic church.
