  • Nice but on the end it says FATAL: MITM attacks can't be used on unconfigured interfaces.

    Can you help?

    Thx

  • @voetbalfever When you run ettercap, try doing all the interfaces and see which one works for you. The one I used in the video may not be what is showing on yours. So just basically follow my video and then use your own interface, cause you may not have wlan0 or mon0 etc.

  • ok man... good vid but i have one question. I understand how all of this works on an internal network say the network that your on. Question is how do you do it on say an external network like say someone elses home network? How would you get a spoofed page on there system? I get how you would get the info back to your network using your external ip and ettercap but i dont know how to get into their net in the first place. help me out man!

  • @scottiemathew You would need to port forward the machine that is running Backtrack. Log into your router and modem and port forward the ports that you would use for the attack. Then, you would have to redirect it to your website or web hosting. So that if it goes to a website, the website redirects them to your external ip address and then to the local ip address that is running Backtrack. I hope this makes sense. Its very difficult to do. My isp blocks most of my ports so I can't do it.

  • when im trying to perform the dns spoofing using ettercap, how to make sure that it will scan my wlan0 and not the eth0?? im using the command line....please help...thanks in advance... :D

  • @Lazier23 Just make sure you are connected to the network with wlan0 before doing everything in the video. Then, everything should work perfect. I used eth0 in Vmware to bridge off my wireless.

  • my IP forwarding wont stay at 1. It always resets to 0

  • @osdmontu To tell you the truth, I haven't honestly found out a way to do a single ip address, just the entire network which works a lot better to me. We all like to have a lot of information don't we? ;)

  • sorry, what I mean is that I want to send the ip to a single dns_spoof not my entire network .. which would be the command. thanks
