This is a quick video to show a new gasket material that I have found.

You can find it at Home Depot for around $6 a roll. (4ft x 1 1/2ft. roll)

  • does this stuff have an adhesive side to it?

  • @drumstick9000

It does not have any adhesive, but it does stick to the plates when pressed.

It is called drawer or cabinet liner. You can buy it at WalMart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware.

  • Hello, sorry for my english

But for your leak problem, You can to put resin around your dry hydrogen cell

  • I've used a sealant before, but I always resented the fact that it wouldn't work the first time. That is why I started looking for different materials for my gaskets.

This new material has been in use for a week on my latest Dry Cell and so far there is no sign of problems. It withstands high temperatures and still maintains a tight seal between each plate.

  • Thanks for the info.. Have you or anybody tried .047 phenolic sheet for gasket? Thanks.

  • THAT STUFF (contact) is like a spong and might leek, so I returned it .

  • The thing I think that people are overlooking is...is the gasket they use conductive?

  • I found it at home depot, but when I tried it I was unable to get a consistent gap space between the plates. It also squeezed out and covered the plate edges a bit. I'm now using a rubber/fiber gasket material that I found at Autozone. It's 1/32 (.031) thick. Great results so far.

  • outstanding info thanks

  • Thanks! Great knowledge! I was going to use an old rubber inner tube I found.

  • so what's the actual name of this stuff?
