The microphone is actually a 1980's vintage electro-voice. You just saw the tip of it. I do my own camera work...so, the shots are far from perfect. It's a pretty standard radio field microphone that I've been using for nearly 20 years. These things have to take a lot of punishment.
For anybody who's an electronics geek, it's an 'EV-DO56L"
