  • I agree.. i truly think our best hope for the future of our species is the miracle of education. Imagine.. if every person on earth had a fraction of these mens intelligence and understanding.

A free proper education to any human willing to accept it would be a nice start in rooting out the type of people like the lets say.. 50 million who would vote for a john mccain that take our species and well being backwards.

  • Thank you, so much, for sharing this conversation with me.

  • @nordhorny He says that bacteria do not need protection. That is because with a monoculture, they will have a huge feast tended by humans.

  • Aubrey Manning had three children.

  • @SenNoSenProject "At 4:35, I think that Aubrey Manning "...makes a huge mistake when he says that "microbes don't need protection" compared to tigers etc.

I am certain that he knows this very well and just had a absent moment but people must realise that microbial biodiversity is as important, if not perhaps more important than the biodiversity of higher organisms.

A very unfortunate statement from an otherwise very brilliant man"

  • The Grauniad!

  • Interesting talk, especially the final bit about ecology and conservation.

  • Send old people to the moon. After one builds a moon base of course :p

The low gravity will have them bouncing like spring chickens, and osteoporosis has already struck them so who cares.

  • What a wonderful conversation! Cheers!
