I just removed 6 month old yarn braids and it was matted but i just used Mayo and lost virtually no hair, just the accumulated shed hair cuz ur supposed to lose something like 100 hairs per day and i hadnt combed my hair in 6 months. P.S I kept them in so long because for me leaving braids in for an extremely long time protects all my length so the growth is unreal. So i do that amongst other techniques, but i wont recommend leaving braids in that long unless u know what ur doing.

PMG i left a weave in for 5 months kuz i truely didnt have anyone to do it wen i moved from atl to cali. then i went back to atl to get it taken down n the lady said she had to cut it all off!

I CRIED IN THA CHAIR because my hair came down to my bra hooks so all i had left was the new growth.
