@goodcatholicboy Inquisition was only slightly different than today C.I.A with its primary mission of protecting of establishment... times are changing, science has replaced religion but witch/terrorist-hunt is still same

AAaaah yes... the Inquisition. Nothing like an auto de fe to get the blood going. The good old days; pillage. rape, pillage, torture. This was being Catholic back when being a Catholic meant something by God! Not like TODAY! What a lot of little wimps. Death to infidels I say. Bring back the Crusades.

these images are more scary than any CGI effect Ive ever seen

Purgator criminum: that is Jesus Christ, the Law (Lex) belongs to the Old Covenant (the Jews), which doesn't release us from our sins, while the incarnation of the Word and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ redeem us from all wickedness. The song tells only that the Jews didn't recognise Jesus Christ, the same as written in the New Testament.

the song text is:DE lUDiEA
Purgator criminum de patris dextera venit ad hominum, sananda uulnera; cognosce dominum, ludea misera!
lex habet terminum, recedunt uetera, nee mundant scelera. PURGATOR CRIMINUM, DOMINUM NON COGNOSCENTE.
ritus libaminum nee legis littera. O gentis simplids cor plus quam ferreum, murcam respicis nee vides oleum, in esu cortidsnon gustas nudeum, degranis elicis.
The pictures in the video don't suit the song text, it is about Grace and Law.

@teresavivarium
I didn't want the pictures to "suit the text", as you put it. I wanted to evoke a sense of the Medieval period through art and music. I particularly like macabre art, that's just a personal quirk, I also like conducti. Please don't get bogged down in the religious aspect of this video, go out and buy the music if you want , read up on the art from that era, use this as a springboard, if you will, to explore everything that this epoch has to offer. Just enjoy, enjoy , enjoy.

Awesome piece, although the lyrics are incredibly anti-Semitic.

@ggn1234 Anti semitic yes, but not incredible. The Jewish people suffered terribly throughout history, the Dark Ages being no exception. These anti Jewish views made their way into every aspect of Christian culture. It isnt incredible to find such views in any piece from this period as it was the norm and ( disturbingly ) widely accepted. If you embrace the beauty of medieval art/music you must also acknowledge its sinister side.
