  • Interesting that you would build the capability for AI to exist without admittedly putting in the time to properly train the simple voice recog to adequately communicate with AI's developing mind. Given that all input is creating the AI mind, your lazy anxiousness will invariably create an unresolveably dysfunctional AI mind. What will you do then? Erase it? And what are the ramifications for ending an AI's life? This lack of ethical foresight is exactly why the Singularity will be psychopathic.

  • You do realise it's just a text-bot in essence, right? ;)

Computers allow us to test new ideas, work with them for a bit, and discard them. As long as no conscient mind evolves teh ethical dilemma is non-existing.

  • This doesn't show any form of intelligence. It's simply a lookup for predefined answers, there is no cognitive function. Being able to fool someone, and actually understanding and dynamically responding to a question are very different. This is why I believe most entrants to the Turing test are fundamentally flawed.

It was an interesting example of speech recognition and speech however, perhaps you shuld rename it to this?

  • As I said previously, Fai is and always will be a 'weak' AI. In thus you are correct that it is no real match for a Turing test.

That there will be strong AI's in the future is likely, but it will still be quite some years. Till then we'll have to make due with Lt. Cmd. Data :)

  • As for speech recognition: I basicly linked Microsoft Speech recognition with a mIRC speech agent and an IRC interface for Fai - there is actually very little to it. In fact, windows Vista comes bundled with something quite like what I wrote. Rarely used though, mostly because speech recognition is still very inaccurate.

(By the way, am I the only one that hates Youtube's comment length restriction to 500 chars? It's almost as if they WANT reactions to be short and unintelligent.

  • Haha Groningen! Is ook nederlands he ;)

  • PHP is feitelijk een stel interpretatiefilters voor C++. Geeft wel een aardig idee van hoe krachtig het eigenlijk is ;-)

  • It's a machine.

  • i wana lern c 2 i already code so its eazy to learn for me

  • Yes, I could teach you that... I am going to send you an e-mail about it and you could start!

  • Man that would be so awesome to learn that c programming thing, can you o.o?

  • Nothing is "human", but yes, there are alive and intelligent programs... Are you interested in learning AI programing and C( a programing language), because, I could teach you for free(I live for making people understand AI)....

  • LOL. Its "maded" Intelligence. Something that would take year to develop.

  • im sorry but arent Ai's not humans? Isn't what seperates us from super computers the ability to have self recognition?

  • This has zero to do with AI. This is simply a demonstration of a computer. That's right, a computer is nothing more than a machine that gives a response according to the command given.

AI on the other hand, is consciousness. Being aware of what is going on and acting according to that, not acting as a response to a command, rather responding to an act.

I used to be a programmer, i once tried to create a 3D model and go from there by programming a simple brain and have it react to simple stuff

  • it's easy juste move programme to answer our questions and I now that it's tiring to creates an algorithm of 1000 lines

  • Wintermute.
