The sad thing behind it is that in South Africa and many other countries, "canned hunting" is a great problem and despite international protest, hundreds of lions are bred and shot each year to satisfy both tourists(who love the cute little fellows as well, but only because they have seen the lion king) and macho hunters who shoot a lion out of a closed 4X4 with a hole in the door and then brag with the lion they "shot in africa".
Fortunately, the lions in the video come from a closed breeding facility and were used to replace lions in animal parks which died from disease.
In South Africa a lion can be shot in an enclosure as small as 200 by 200 meter, a white lion can be "hunted" for app 1 million ZAR. I have handled lioncubs and know about the cruel things which happen in the hunting industry, and i would ask everybody who sees this video and understands this problem, please write to the embassies and ask them to ban canned hunting, as it's a disgrace for their country.
Pardon my english, i am a native Dutch speaker.

  • i support hunting but fuck canned hunting thats like tying an animal up so it cant move and shooting point blank not the right way to hunt

  • Exactly, and most people i know to be involved in this cruel practice are US buisnessmen, They find it a sport to shot a lion in an enclosure sometimes less then 100 by 100 meter. I wanted to protest against this practice but found that just about everybody in the animal buisness is involved, from wildlife organisations to hotels to game reserves and even big organisations such as seagate are sponsoring a SA buisness i know to be involved in canned hunting.

  • I do eat meat, but you are right, i have seen the terrible things that happen in chicken and pig farms, but i had to start somewhere so i started with anti canned hunting.

    Thanks for the comment :)

  • Hello, i was very lucky to be able to do this, it was in a private game reserve and i found it on the net :)

  • I just can't seem to understand why some people take pleasure in killing. There are some circumstances, as some has mentioned when it's life and death then it can't be helped. But if it's just for trivial things like bragging or sport, that's just plain stupid.

Humans are not supposed to be that savage. Even cavemen only kill what they need to eat.

I'm kinda envious you get to work with such cute lion cubs though :D

  • @ SuperBeech77,

Bravo! I couldn't agree with you more. The macho-dicks that get a thrill out of hunting are evil ba$tards. To me they are the biggest cowards and losers. People like that scare the hell out of me. They have NO compassion and are probably unfeeling sociopaths.

To all hunters out there I hope you rot in hell!

  • @laidbacktionist I would say hunting is fine in many parts of the world and often needed due to over population. I'm talking about animals like deer, boars, varmit, etc, which are a nuisance to a lot of landowners. It is an enjoyable sport and deer meet is excellent. However hunting something like a lion is over the line. Some animals you just don't go after, and there's nothing worth bragging over after you've killed something so awsome. They need to be left alone.

  • oh dammn now im scared of u dude now you got two body guards instead of bitch ass clowns walkin by u

  • @thestarsign AMEN to that!

  • if I ever touch or cuddle a tiger cub or a lion or any feline cub lol...whatever cat cub whatever...lol anyway...if I ever touch one of them for the first time I'd freak out run in circles cry in joy...jumping...joyfully...happily cuddle them <3 :) and play with them the whole day...<3 beautiful animals<3 God is so powerful :3 :D ♥♥♥

  • omg that is the most cutest thing i have ever seen!

  • You can try to shoot a lion to think that you are brave and all,but in a one on

one fight you don't stand a chance of winning.Though the lion has the highest population of the big cats,it is still wrong to try to shoot such a powerful, beautiful, animal.

  • the lions would be safer if there are more ppl like u ard....

  • That's very touching i agree with u fully and also as a animal lover thank u 4 caring we hav a voice and they dnt. And I am also south African n strongly disagre with it. From dis video I jus found out about canned hunting never new we had it in SA. I will complain! God bless and ur heart x

  • Canned hunting huh? I bet if the penalty were to become "can hunted" they would stop that heartless crap!

These animals do not exist for our sheer entertainment or to boost some asshole's ego. They are entertaining enough just being themselves. I would rather shoot them with a camera.

  • Where would I write to?
