@Ladystarify he looks quite a bit older than this now (2011) and it's only been a few years. No matter, glad he's alive.

@NoDestinyLive4Now true, I observed the same, poor David. But nowadays he is too much better, he got thinner again and healthier. It makes me so happy. He looked so bad and tired after the surgery at first, but little by little he get recovered of this damn heart attack.

The Hurricane is located near Hamburg and I guess Bowie stayed in a hotel there anyway. As he left the stage appearing fully fit I assume that the problem occured later that night in Hamburg where he subsequently underwent surgery. A bit of luck there as Hamburg has a highly rated hospital for heart surgery.

I was there and yes, it was a fantastic show. Unfortunately only bits of it where shown on TV. No "Quicksand", no "Station To Station" - though they were real highlights. And "Heroes" was pure fire.
In contrast to many reports later Bowie was not led off the stage because of his heart problem and the show was not cut short. Bowie and the band played encores and gave the enthused crowd extensive goodby bows.

Thanks for posting, it's heartbreaking knowing what happened that night, but it just shows how much courage and determination this wonderful gentleman possessess. Our sweet David, for those of us who truly love this man not only for his musical genius but also for the beautiful shining light that comes from within, he will Never Get Old ♥♥♥♫♪♫☼♫♪♫♥♥♥
