The necessity to develop in the State of Pernambuco, a laboratory that makes use of remote sensing and Geoprocessing(Geographic Information Systems to be exact - GIS) to find solutions in the diverse areas of knowledge, was the main reason for the creation of the GEOSERE. Another important aspect consists of the intention to establish a mutiplying pole of geotechnologies, forming mutiplying agents of Remote Sensing and Geoprocessing. The GEOSERE, through its technical team and work infrastructure, of which objective is to offer to the student scientific community and the general community, solutions that make the improvement of the quality of life of the population possible, especially those living at the North-East of Brazil.
