how well I remember Vietnam..I'm Jewish, voluteered for Sgt. Of The Guard Christmas Eve...This song stays in my mind..No Mortars or Rockets that X-mas Eve..just men sing Carols in the bunker on the perimiter...1968
I had been in Viet Nam for over a year when a kid brought a tape player with him into country and he had this song with him. It was beautiful then and it's still just as beautiful. Makes my heart soar when I hear it. Thanks for sharing
It's been 40 years since I've heard this song. I was 7-years during the summer 1969 when this song was constantly playing over the radio. So great to hear it again after so many years!
A fun, yet meaningful lyric about love, with a jumpy little tune. A hit in the midst of some pretty outstanding rock and roll that was born of social dissention on all levels, what a "ditty". It should be played today.....
