This noise has been going on for quite some time now. It sounded like a belt tensioner but someone told me it was the water pump. Its not leaking anti freeze.

  • Hey guys, I did manage to get this fixed, it was my AC Compressor that was causing this, it ended up completely seized about 2 weeks ago, so I took it to my mechanic and he put a bypass pulley I bought in instead. I do now have a coolant leak on the passenger side that may be caused by the water pump. I'll probably get it changed soon

  • Did you ever get this fixed. We have a 96 Beretta and was making a similar noise. Had a mechanic tell me it was the water pump. The car wasn't acting funny or anything it was just the noise. I replaced the pump and it fixed the noise. The mechanic said it was the bearings in the water pump that were worn out. Hope this helps
