  • Just beautiful Bernard. I decided to treat myself this Christmas with a new J45 natural finish. I walked into my music room Christmas morning and strummed a few chords, then with a big ole' sh#t-eating grin I dug out my blood pressure machine. I was 12 points lower than I'd been at the doc's the day before, so stop the press's. 'MEDICAL BREAKTHRU J45 lowers old f%rts blood pressure'

  • @snapfruzen

Thanks a lot for your comment.

  • Bernard, your Gibsons sound better than any of the new ones I have played; and the fact that you probably play them better than I do also. Great music....thanks

  • Very nice! I have a very similar sounding '56 Gibson. That AT mic sounds really good on it. I use an SM57 on mine (it's all I have) I like the tone, but it's very "woody" not much sparkle. Will have to check that mic out. Thanks for posting this.

  • gorgeous...mind if I ask what strings you are using and why you went with a '63? (And whether a new off-the-shelf J-45 Standard might sound...slightly...similar?...is a new 2011 Standard J-45 still decent?) Thanks!

  • Are you interested in seeling this gibson? PLEASE?

  • Celle-ci sans les effets est sublime...!

  • I see you're using an ATM33 at a distance. That is one beautiful instrument. Harmonics, attack tone - wonderful.

  • @sc12100 You should try out a 5 series Freshman guitar. I just bought one recently and compared it to Taylor, Martin, Gibson etc all costing over £2000. I ended up with the Freshman! It cost me £900. The finish, feel and sound blew me away! There are few guitars nowadays that will sound as good as a 50 year old quality guitar like the J45 but please try a 5 series Freshman. A whole lot of guitar for the money believe me!

  • sounds amazing sir=))

  • Sounds very sweet. I've got a J45 almost identical. Got from Father who says it's the same model Bob Dylan wrote the Blowing in the wind album.

Question, what kind of preamps are you using or is it just the mic and the audio interface?

  • what strings?
