At the end, Vader should have said: "I feel a disturbance in the force in a galaxy far, far away"

@vgaddict93 The bummer is that the intellectual component has emancipated itself from most geeks...well not so much emancipated itself, more like got replaced by World of Warcraft fanaticism.

According to Oxford American Dictionary.
Geek - noun. a person with an eccentric devotion to a particular interest: star wars geek, computer geek, etc.
-
DON! From how i met your mother?
-
@vgaddict93 I'm a geek too, but I can't fucking stand anime/manga, it's a large pile of bullshit.

@kr3wman911 "Read Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Dickens, Melville, Hemingway. Read real philosophy. Read Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, Kant, Hume, Thoreau" NOW: those are the greatest GREATEST hyper-narcissistic assholes who have been outcasted because they consider themselves so vastly superior to everyone else.
-
Vader got done hunting Jedi in his galaxy and went after geeks in ours?
-
many of those u mentioned were outcasts in a first place. u'll probably find the nicest, most decent people in the "geek community" just because while they were growing up, they had to make a special effort to try to fit in...
Nope, pretty sure you won't find many "hyper-narcissistic assholes"...u ll find people that are extremely passionate about a certain topic... listing all those authors makes u an intellectual? give me a break. the day u can read them in their original languages, come talk

I hate the assumption that just because someone reads star wars, reads anime, and has no form of social life, they are somehow considered "intellectuals". Really, they're just hyper-narcissistic assholes who have been outcasted because they consider themselves so vastly superior to everyone else. Read some real literature. Read Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Dickens, Melville, Hemingway. Read real philosophy. Read Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, Kant, Hume, Thoreau, etc. Then come talk.
I'm proudly a geek! That is, if your definition of "geek" is anime loving, Star Wars quoting, video game enthused, intellectual.

Honestly, I find Harry Potter fans no different from cultists. They scare the shit out of ME.
