@babarislander1 Actually the majority of Filipino ancestry began in Taiwan. and migrated later to Malaysia/ Indonesia and the Polynesian Islands. There also was some mixing of negritos as well. So Filipino's are actually more closely related to Hawaiians/ Polynesians then you might think. They're mentioned in the song because they're country has been taken over forcefully many times and the indigenous people have been forced to adapt different cultures.

...as for the "Asian" labels- best said by an austronesian brother, "Asia is a continent not a race or ethnicity.." As for the ethnic stereotypes - My immediate family consist of full blood PINOY, and Meztisos - me and my cousins.
