so here is the second tutorial about "how to... creating a stencil " .
I use a Wacom Cintiq 21 UX ( interactive Pen Display ) , a Laserplotter and the PC Software Adobe Photoshop, Corel Trace and Corel Draw.
Before I got that advanced equipment I used the Stencil Burner but the working method was the same.
you can sketch your picture or you take a photo and then you cut out the different colors in different layers.
The customers picture of thedog is an easy one that takes me 45 min to paint it on the PC and 15 more minutes and the stencil and the Airbrush work was finished.
When there are more details like in a car or an animal it takes me up to 4 hours to paint the picture on the PC and the laser plotter needs about one hour to cut the stencil ( the dog has about 2000 vector parts for the plotter to cut )
But when you have a stencil like this you can airbrush the picture in 5 to 10 minutes and there are 2000 details in your artwork that would take a freehand artist hours to paint ( now everybody can airbrush a high quality picture even with little experience )

verwendet werden : das Wacom Cintiq 21 UX ( Tablet Display ) , ein Laserplotter und die Computerprogramme Adobe Photoshop, Corel Trace und Corel Draw.
Früher habe ich zum schneiden der Schablonen einen Stencil Burner benutzt.
Dabei kannst du eine Zeichnung oder ein Foto nehmen und wie in dem Video schneidet man dann die verschiedenen Farben in verschiedenen Ebenen der Schablone.
Dieses Bild von dem Hund ist ein einfaches Bild Ich brauchte 45 min zum malen auf dem PC und in weiteren 15 min waren die Schablone geschnitten und das Musterbild fertig.
Wenn ich ein Bild habe , wie z.B. das Auto oder den bösen Wolf, und es sind mehr Details zu machen kann es schon mal bis zu 4 Stunden dauern das Bild am PC zu malen.Der Laserplotter braucht dann für so eine Schablone bis zu einer Stunde um die Schablone zu schneiden ( der Hund hatte ca. 2000 Vectorpunkte die der Plotter schneiden musste )
Der Vorteil einer solchen Schablone ist das es 5 bis 10 min dauert das Bild zu malen , man hat aber trotzdem 2000 Details für die man bei einer Freihand Arbeit Stunden bräuchte ( nun kann jeder ein hochwetiges Airbrush Bild malen, auch mit wenig Erfahrug )

hi..when you use to use a stencil burner what sort of printer did you use to print out the image? did you just print on to A4 acetate sheets then cut the image out?....great vid..(", )

I used a normal ink jet printer and a really thick paper (250gr ) , then I put the acetat sheat over the photo

and then I cut the different layers

Is there anyway you can go over what it is your doing in Photoshop to cut out the colors and make a new layer out of it, been trying and can't figure it out. I have a graphic tablet and photoshop, was trying to do what you do, but can't get it to cut out what I traced around?
