Venezuela's provocative President, Hugo Chavez has been so loud in his verbal assaults on the USA that for most people the country is permanently off the tourist trail. But intrepid traveller Ian Wright doesn't scare easily. He starts his journey in the Northern State of Zulia, on the Columbian border where they like their music loud and their kidnappings frequent. He witnesses one of South America's biggest
Christian Festival and journeys down river to meet indigeous tribes still living in huts on stilts. As he arrives in Caracas which has one of the biggest and most dangerous slums in South America he hunts for a children's ghetto orchestra who have conquered the world's concert halls. He ends up on Margarita Island - one of the world's most notorious cocaine smuggling haunts.
I agree with the publisher. So sad such a beautiful country with so many talents is sinking, not because on one man on the power but many followers.
The Zulia es the most talented state regarding music and intellect.
Big hope and Luck to Venezuela and its people

You can save for yourself the political commentaries about a country you don't know. Show some respect. Zulia suffers kidnappings and continuous oppositors pitiyankees governers, as Manuel Rosales is still wanted for corruption and founds detoured. By other side, Caracas isn't more dangerous than Mexico D.F. or Bogota (the real capital of cocaine), two countries still slaved by invisible and untouchable capitalists who live there (as corrupt Pedro CarmonaEstanga). Long live to Commandant Chávez!
