i caught loads of pike from my local pond all i did was pour 5 bottles of bleach into it and they all came floating up! got a few carp too!

Having the pike out, even that small, for that long then throwing it back, chances are that Pike died. Pike have to be put back very carefully and given time to recover, especially if out of the water for a while.
