the proper term for a mixed child between a dark person and a white person is MULATTO. i can see what you are trying to say, but a person who is mixed is not going ot call themselves mulatto, but the race that they most identify with. I have a cousin who has 4 mixed kids, 2 are light skinned 2 are dark, every one of them consider themselves white because thats all they are around. I'm not going to tell my cousin that he is black when in fact he is just as white as his lighter skinned sibling
