Read carefully this before making Mashed Potatoes

Tips to prepare Mashed Potatoes

1) Peel potatoes
2) Put peeled potatoes in cold salted water. Turn on fire and take water to the boiling point. Potatoes will cook within 20 minutes and you will be sure that they are cooked when a knife can pass through them.
3) While potatoes are cooking, put a pot on fire with milk and boil it. When milk is boiling take it away from fire and let it rest.
4) When potatoes are ready, strain and then mash them with the proper tool.
5) Add a knob of butter or more (do it according to your taste), some hot milk (not too much at the beginning) and start to mix.
6) Add some grated Parmesan Cheese (do it according to your taste) and mix. Step by step add the milk to mix it easier
7) Add some salt (do it according to your taste) and mix
8) Add some more milk if you want your mashed potatoes more smooth

Enjoy it with roast, ham or with anything you like!

  • Io ci metto sempre anche la noce moscata, ci dà un aroma unico! (in knife la k non si pronuncia)

    bella zio

  • around the woorld around the world!!

    great song!

  • Actually, it's not really a "sticky" feel, but rather, slimy.

  • I just tried your recipe. Turned out pretty good, though I have a question: The potatoes had this kind of sticky texture to them. I realized later that I didn't let the potatoes cook completely...could that be the cause, or do one of the ingredients give it this texture?

  • Great videos man. One thing though: It's really easy to peel potatoes after they're boiled. Have you tried that?

  • E' facile, pensa che stasera manco quello in polvere della Maggi sono riuscito a fare!:)

  • The tool is called a 'RICER" Ive been using one since seeing the video and my potatoes have been the best ever. I also use whipping cream,or sour cream, or even half and half as a mixture

  • great video!

  • Where can you get da tool?

  • Just to point out you can't actuly set water on fire i think you mean boil! im going to mash my tatties now =D
