Colin Hay, former lead singer of Men at Work, performed a live show on May 1, 2010 at The Center for Arts in Natick. It was like an episode of VH1's Storytellers, hearing all of his great stories behind each song. He explained how this particular song landed on the soundtrack for the movie Garden State, by 'mistake', because he told his attorney to take it off the soundtrack, but his attorney didn't. Hay was thankful, however, because the money he made from it "paid for the granite kitchen tops".
thanks for the post. He said something similar at the show at the Iron Horse in Northampton 5/5
