@CyclingMickey You say cyclists tend to be higher than average earners so pay more tax than motorists. What a stupid comment from a highly educated professional For a start ur not counting children cyclists a very high percentage, the unemployed, the working class, and a lot of motorists also cycle. It's not only you, the upper class snob that cycle so do ur maths again. We the motorists pay tax on insurance, road tax, license, fuel, maintenance, car parts, tolls, parking. Ps I bet u white colla

@Seanmcdhuibhne Cyclists are not obliged to use the cycle lanes, thank goodness. Batlin has it right, they substantially increase risk to us. And don't forget, cyclists tend to be higher than average earners, and thus pay more in tax than the average motorists do.

@Seanmcdhuibhne Yes Sean I do think that. Numerous studies have shown that cycle tracks dramatically INCREASE the chances of cyclists being injured or killed. Have a look in Google, it's surprising but that's how it is!
-
@batlin you think it's safer to cycle closer to a bus or taxi and avoid using cycling tracks which WE the tax payer spent for you the cyclist to help reduce deaths and injuries on our roads.

@elcomcf It's not a cycle lane, it's a cycle "path" or track, and the points where you're forced to merge back onto the road are often so dangerous that you're better off avoiding them completely.
