Is the belt and pulley mechanism below actually powering this, or is that just for show?

The belt and pulley mechanism is where the drive spring is located. You wind the sculpture by turning the right hand wheel about 22 turns counter clockwise.

do you mind to post some angles?I dunno I really haven't seen your products much but I think this beautiful sculpture is going to be bulky :(

The sculpture extends 10.5 inches from the wall. This is more than many of my sculptures and less than a few. The depth is needed to accommodate all the layers.
