  • Let me clarify something about UCLA's drumline. Anyone who knows anything about the real drumline world (competitive DCI/WGI) will tell you hands down UCLA is one of the best college drumlines around. USC is a fukcing joke, they suck balls but UCLA actually has alot of their shit together

  • NO. They are not. We respect SC band. As they perform at the rose bowl, you can watch us on the sideline. We most definitely do not yell obscenities, throw grass, or play in their faces in order to make them miss sets, which by the way is ridiculous and ineffective. USC does not have to set aside funds to replace stained uniforms when they come to the rose bowl. Our uniforms do not have beer pockets. And this is not pride, sir. It's the experience and the truth of performance ACCOMPLISHMENT.

  • hmm RCC drumline..?

  • @FVdingshling

hello maybe that is true, and but that is not saying much...15 years ago UCLA was 5 times cleaner AND better...Dave Dillulo was center snare . and there were alot of SCV personnel... and that was before the fixation on "fast paradiddle DCI". where real funk and groove mixed with real flammed rudiments were consistently clean.

  • Is it might just be me, but it seems as if the snares don't any pride in the way they look.. I mean from the angle of the camera, it looks like alot of their drums are crooked.

  • OK, for American drumlines, they are pretty good. They do NOT compare, however, to any military drum corps. Although The Corps of Drums focus on military precision, their overall effect and rudiments, as a whole, are much more complex and effective.

To be honest, the costumes that Americans wear do not help...

  • @FVdingshling

They're definitely one of the better Pac 12 drumlines I've heard. I've marched DCI, WGI, as well as spending three years in a Pac 10/12 drumline.

  • University of Oregon USE to have a drumline better than that. Just clarifying. (04-08)

  • if UCLA was soo much better than USC... then why even compare them ...obviously both bands are not the best bands in the world...both have their OWN faults ....AND if UCLA was sooo great there should be no need for bragging or comparing ...gosh

  • Here's a fun fact: Pretentious UCLA bandies brag about how they focus on drum corps ideals, and talk about how much 'cleaner' their line is than USC's. However, USC doesn't try to be like anyone else, and they don't claim to be the cleanest or the most like DCI bands.

Neither UCLA nor USC are the cleanest college bands around. Only difference is, UCLA tries and fails, while USC sets simple goals and accomplishes them consistently. Don't talk shit to a band that's not even playing the same game.

  • usc band rocks there soo liget!!!!!!

  • wait people are comparing $C band to ucla's? i'm not even a fan of ucla and i know that's just silly. ucla band over $C. anyday.
