This is an update on my voltage regulator oscillator. It will now run on a wide input range and the full output of the regulator is available for switching or pulsing applications.
I also show how the VRO can be used to make an inverter and an exciter.

  • You have inspired me to try some of these circuits out myself ( :

I need a break from all of the high voltage flyback transformer circuits I have been doing lately.

  • Hi Alex.Thats great.I look forward to see what you come up with.Happy experimenting.Jonny.

  • Thanks for sharing

  • Hi.Edmorbus.Thanks for watching.Jonny.

  • Hi Jonny. Very Impressive Circuit.! And a small number of parts to boot,I had a question but it's slipped my pea brain of a mind Lol.I'll post again when I remember. But anyway Thank you for sharing this very useful circuit.Added to my Favorites & Playlists....Tec

  • Hi slider.I don't know if a 7805 would work but Lidmotor found one which did,not sure what it was but he made a vid.The switch speed is adjustable with caps from less than 1 hz.Supercaps stop oscillation as the discharge time is to slow.Cheers.Jonny.

  • This is a bit special ! Will be more so if you can confirm a regular 7805 works ???? If so, that opens the door for pulse motor circuits for me (tons of em in a box) :) It could replace many a 555 circuit I reckon...the cap value changing the duty cycle (from what I heard on the vid).

Any idea what the slowest switch speed is ? just wondering what happens if you throw a 2200uF on it, or a supercap lol.
