  • yes i know that a chev is the most bang for the buck and it's the easiest way to go. i have a 1952 ford 1/2 ton with a 55 dodge hemi in it. very expensive to say the least, but i haven't seen another like it. i have to clean out the garage(lots of various engines-no chevs yet) and make some room. maybe i'll look into a small chev for the next project. i do have an edelbrock&new qjet for a chevy and a truck 4speed trans for a chevy. when i'm ready, i'll need some advice. good luck with the "T".

  • @mschiffel1 thanks ,and ,yea if i can help just give a shout

  • nice roadster. but yet another small block chevy? yawn!! that's already been done before. the chevys are plentiful and cheap, but they also have been beat to death by everyone else. think about olds, caddy, mopar, any inline six, etc. please don't be offended. it's yours to build your way. just my 2cents worth.

  • @mschiffel1 there is a reason people have always used small blocks ,they are dependable, if your in BFE and break down you can get parts ,they make the best power for there size ,they are a superior block design ,and the supply and demand pipe line makes buying parts for them cheap ,try building a old olds or caddy ,youll have about $3000 to $4000 in parts ,and thats before your fuel system, you might find an ass load of 305's and 350's ,but i doubt youll find many 57 fuely 283's

  • @mschiffel1 also i drive the piss out of my cars ,i dont just build them to go to shows in town ,i do long road trips ,so i want function over form ,and it just makes sense for me ,i have a vintage chevy parts buss. and keep 100 small block on hand ,i know it wont make you happy but i picked up a 1956 265 that im going to put in the 24 T ,like i said before there is a reason that people run small blocks ,they are the best

  • i'm happy to hear about the 265. that's one of my favorite small blocks. i had a few of them from a 2bbl 162hp.,to a 2x4bbl 225 hp. version---all great v8s i was the biggest chevy fan at one timebut the kids and the mortgage got in the way. now i'm back in the game.i'm building a rat project w/ a 2wd small pickup chassis& a 51 ford cab with a 4in. chop. engine is a packard straight 8&3speed stick
